First day at the hospital!

Today was our first day at the hospital and what a life changing experince we each had. Tonight during our group devotional time we each shared what we took away from our experince today and everyone had a different response. It was hard, yet God's mercy was so good to us and we were each so blessed by Him. We all held the babies and prayed over them speaking God's love into them. We were all excited to see the babies respond in postive ways to us. Many of the children would laugh or smile at us as we talked and played with them. We felt like God was showering his favor on us as we poured into his little ones and they received what we were able to offer.
Many of us left the hospital brokenhearted for all that we saw, but many of us were also encouraged by seeing some mothers staying with their children and to experince God's healing. Praise God we did have a healing today. There was one little baby off in a corner crib, and at first Melissa was told that that baby needed to stay in his crib, but shortly after she was allowed to hold him. He had some respiratory problems and as he breathed he was wheezing. She prayed over him and at the instant of her command for his breathing to be healed his wheezing was gone!! We are praising God for his healing and expecting more to come this week.

A rainy day!

Hi everyone,

Here's an update on our day. We all slept in for some much needed sleep after our long day of traveling. We got up and met the team who works for Hope for the Nations for lunch. While we ate at a cute litte place, we were given our badges and schedules for the week. Three members of the team, Theresa, Valvet and Melissa, will be going with Mark on Tuesday to visit some families that are in need. We are expectant for what will come through their time there in a couple days. After a fun lunch we came back and prepared to grocery shop. We had to take a taxi to get to the nearest shopping center. It was an interesting and challenging experince to take 7 women on a shopping trip with a budget, but we did it!!! After we got back and unpacked some of us went walking through the streets in the rain. There were a ton of Romanian people hanging out around all the shopping areas and the fountain. It is really fun to see cobble stone streets filled with people and large umbrellas and chairs set up for people to hang out.

This evening we spent time talking and praying for what we expect and want God to do this week. We have high expectations and are so thankful that we serve a God who will go far beyond our expectations.

Tomorrow morning Melissa, Valvet and Colleen will work the morning shift at the hospital, and Robin, Tracey, and Theresa will work the afternoon. On our down time we are planning to do prayer walk around the city. We are all getting excited to meet the babies at the hospital and ready for another good nights sleep. Thanks for all your love, support and prayers.

First night

We're here!!!

Hi everyone,

We made it to Romania!! We just arrived in Brasov at our apartment, which is beautiful and has free internet. Luckly the flight from Detroit to Amsterdam went with out a hitch. We were forunate that it went fast and we were able to get right onto our connecting flight. We arrived in Bucharest and were greeted by our friendly driver. Our three hour car ride took us thourgh lots of mountains and beautiful old cities.

God is already moving and working amoung our group. On our second flight Melissa woke up with terrible ear pains and lost the hearing in her right ear. After group prayer and our drive through the mountians her ear is healed!! Praise God!!

We are all thankful to be here and get a good nights sleep. Here are some pictures of the apartment, city, and team members. We will continue to update our blog as time permits. Thanks for all your love and support!! We are so blessed to be here.
